I’m Mel. An Australian, genre-mashing fictional writer, who aims for that romantic happily ever after in my soon-to-be-released novels.
As a wanderer in not just words, my weekends are spent exploring my unique backyard fumbling for the perfect photo. I live in an amazing part of Australia where they say there are more cattle and crocodiles than there are people.
I’ll admit to taking the scenic route in life, wandering into many fate-founded occupations whilst travelling via many unplanned and unconventional ways. I’ve worked from dust covered work-utes beside outback tracks within National Parks and indigenous lands. Learned the secret to perfect seafood selection on deserted tropical islands in Far North Queensland. Cooked for billionaires onboard luxurious yachts, in five-star resorts, through to dishing up tucker to road train-drivers in a few remote pubs too. I’ve even tried to behave within the confines of the corporate world.
So, with my allergy to all things drawn-out and corporately serious, I write purely for entertainment. I’m also the proud recipient of the NT’s 2017 Author’s Mentorship with Hachette Australia. My short stories, flash fiction, and poetry have been internationally published in various magazines and online zines. Now, it’s now my novels turn to shine in their word-adventures for that Happily Ever After.
Thank you for your visit, and I hope you’ll join enjoy my stories.
