7 fun things linked to The Station…

7 fun things linked to The Station, an epic romantic duology set in the Australian Outback.

It’s an epic rural romance found in an outback cattle Station, set in the remote Northern Territory outback, in a land that is so big and wide, it’s bigger than some European Countries. Here are a few posts that’ll give you an idea of how much depth, space, and fun is unearthed in this unique story. Buckle up, buttercup, it’s about to get good.

1/- When a promise takes you to some extraordinary places

As the heroine of this epic rural romance, The Station ends up in a big dusty land, making a promise to stay for a set period of time.  Seems simple enough, right?

But does she keep it or break it while floundering like a fish-out-of-water?

Yet, to make or break a promise is something we all do. So before we solemnly swear to cross our hearts on our next pinkie promise, let’s define what a promise is HERE>>

2/ When the humble hen goes rogue…

What happens when you get a gaggle of hens that go rogue?

That’s right, chooks on the loose become a plot point in THE STATION! It’s epic. Kinda. But hey, it’s makes for great reading in this epic rural romance, because most rural dwellings (funnily enough I’ve heard them being called farms once, by this farmer. Go figure?) have some feathery infestation on their properties in cleverly disguised hangouts called hen-coops. Sounds scary to me.

Who knew you could have so much fun with these feathered fiends or to recognised the early warning signs to save you from falling for these feathery fluff balls of fun (which they are), let me help you brush up on your local lingo and the many different ways to call a chook a goose! >>

3/ When a woman takes the wheel…

The heroine of The Station, loves to drive her teeny-tiny-rally car which fuels her thirst for adventure.  And on a station, there are no asphalt roads, no pesky hot-cops in uniform (hey, we can all dream), no road rules and no pesky speed cameras that’ll charge the sum of your left kidney and the loss of every demerit point you have left to make you catch a bus for eternity. I know, I know, it’s tempting to want to sell everything and to runaway to a land, with a really cool car to stir up the dust, in your own epic rural romance! Right?

So, if you have a thirst for adventures behind the wheel, and can’t quite leave the family home just yet, here are some amazing women drivers you can watch from the safety of your home on the small screen>>

An epic rural romance series, with the tropes of forbidden workplace romance, fish-out-of-water, mixed with history and some family drama, you'll have a story set in the remote Australian Northern Territory Outback. There's nothing else like it on the market!

4/ Muster up for this one

In The Station you’ll get a peek at station living, plus a hint of what happens during a muster season.  To help you get a lay of the land, how about we brush up on your local lingo by explaining some of the basic terms for mustering so you can chinwag with the best of the ringers, boundary riders, bore runners, drovers–but not the cheeky chopper pilots, coz they’re just…
Well, be prepared for a load of puns that’ll make you snort-laugh into your cuppa. So put that cup down. Or don’t.

5/  The story of the Aussie Ute

You can’t have a cattle station without their assortment of utes. Can you imagine one of those electric cars in the outback? Seriously, where are they gonna plug themselves into when there are no power outlets for at least four hours away?! And to run the power to fuel those electric cars you’ll need diesel to fuel those power generators, that fuel the diesel utes farmers use daily. Hmmm… Whose been sniffing Parliament’s boardroom glue to make that kind of decision about power cars?
Sorry, I digress.
In THE STATION, you’ll meet a certain stockman who has a love affair with his ute, that he’ll gladly tell you it’s won many a ute muster.
Don’t know what a ute is? Or a ute muster? Let me interpret the local lingo with this post HERE>>

6/  The Outback

As The Station lies in the Northern Territory Outback. Which is a place that is big, dry, and home to some, yet it has many names. See how many you’ve heard of in this post HERE>>
Then at your next cocktail party, you can show off your new vocabulary on what you learned.
In case your eyes glazed over because you were reading while driving and swerved to hit that pesky pushbike rider, here’s that link again >>

7/  Dust does fly

Especially in the outback with this post>>
What? Do you need me to explain more about a land of dry dust?
Well, there is more. As you’ll soon learn when you tap on the link and discover that there is more to dust, than just… dust!  (Bwah-ah)

8/ Yes, I miscounted. So call it the bonus round because I’m a writer who loves to write – hoping you’re an amazing reader who loves to read!

Still with me?

Anyway, my stories are inspired by true stories…

gasps!

No, I did not rip them off either.  And to not bore you with the details, when I should be rewarding you for being able to scroll to the entirety of this post (which makes you a champion!)  it took well over ten years for this story to come to light, as in finding the courage to just get this epic story published.

But what makes it so special is the staggering amount of research that went into this.

That meant talking with a lot of locals–that thankfully involved places that served cold beer on hot days.  Before you judge me, it was needed after scouring the dusty dungeons of the Territory Archives that echo when you sneeze! Dust, right?

I even learned how to draw a map, make a family tree, learn the long-forgotten NT history and, thankfully, got to chat with some hot and sweaty stockmen (not what you think) but in a place that sold cold beer on a hot day. Some one had to do it.

But I also have the amazing daily luxury of actually living in this land, in a place that is so far north that the rest of Australia forgets about us, and is what is known as Australia’s Final Frontier. It’s the land of story.

So if you are looking for a unique story, rich with details,  that cleverly blends history with the modern world, as well as a forbidden workplace romance that’ll make you feel good when it ends, then this story is for you!!

And I promise to leave all politics out of it.

An epic rural romance series, with the tropes of forbidden workplace romance, fish-out-of-water, mixed with history and some family drama, you'll have a story set in the remote Australian Northern Territory Outback. There's nothing else like it on the market!

Like I said before, The Station is a heart-warmingly, epic, rural romance set on one of the oldest and largest cattle stations in the Northern Territory.

So get comfy as we deliciously peel back the layers to reveal a unique outback world, in a story that’s about mending broken hearts and breaking rules as traditions are about to be tested.

The Station is a complete two-part series, and it’s your next great escape to Happily Ever After.

And I’ll…
