đ Romancing the Crocodile Wrangler
Think romance and crocodiles donât mix? Think again. Meet the crocodile wrangler who turns danger into desireâboots, bites, and all.
đ What is a Crocodile Wrangler?
Short version?
A crocodile wrangler is someone brave (or bonkers) enough to catch, relocate, and manage wild crocodiles for a living.
Longer version?
Theyâre the adrenaline-fuelled legends who jump into swamps with a roll of duct tape, a rope, and the kind of calm that suggests this isnât their first rodeoâjust their first rogue reptile of the day.
Forget fancy job titles and suits. These crocodile wranglers (AKA croc-catchers) are the boots-on-the-ground experts who know crocodiles by their scars and scale patterns, can spot a ripple from fifty paces, and never, ever turn their back on a body of waterâespecially one that looks too quiet.
And while most folks would scatter faster than a rabbit at the sight of a twitching tail, these guys?
They run towards it.
As you can imagine, being a crocodile wrangler is not your average day job.
Up here in Australiaâs Top End, itâs a full-contact lifestyle.
Itâs muddy. Dangerous. Loud.
And it involves helicopters, hot heroes, and more mosquito repellent than any rom-com should allow.
But what if the guy in the thick of itâcovered in croc scratches and outback gritâwas also the man to steal your heart?
đ So, Who’d Fall for a Crocodile Wrangler?
Enter: Stone Kipp
Helicopter pilot. Adrenaline junkie. And crocodile wrangler with a dangerous grin and a habit of finding trouble.
Heâs the newest recruit in my Stock Squad Series and the heart-thumping hero of Cold Stockâwhere romance meets crime, and crocodiles add just the right amount of chaos.
With his bespoke crocodile-leather boots, dry wit, and the right kind of swagger that makes the bush blush, Stone doesnât just wrangle reptilesâŠ
He wrangles secrets, tangled emotions, and one unforgettable heroine.
đ Why a Crocodile Wrangler?
Because I live in croc country.
And let me tell you, being surrounded by these ancient predators teaches you a few things like:
-
Never swim in water you canât see through. Even then, donât.
-
Never assume the log is just a log.
-
And neverâeverâcall a croc-catcher a âwrangler.â
(They hate it. But Stone loves it.)
So when I needed a new hero whoâd shake things up in The Stock Squad, I turned to the wildest job I could find.
And it turns out, wrangling crocodiles isnât that far off from wrangling emotions, danger, and the occasional stubborn love interest.
Cold Stock dives headfirst into the murky, magnificent, and slightly terrifying world of crocodilesâŠ
And Stone Kipp might just be the most unique romantic lead youâll ever meet.
đ When You Donât Have a Crocodile Wrangler HandyâŠ
Sometimes, you’ve got to wrestle the danger yourself.
Not every character has their own helicopter, or a hot crocodile wrangler on standby.
But that hasnât stopped a few brave souls from going head-to-head (or toe-to-tail) with crocodiles in my other books.
â Karma the Crocodile â The Pubâs Resident Diva
The three-legged rescue crocodile, Karma, made a splash across the pages to completely steal the show in the Elsie Creek Series.
Karma might not have a pilotâs license, but heâs certainly got main character energy really showing off his stuff in the following books:
MUSTER IN THE DUST (Elsie Creek #5)
Where Karma makes his big splashâand proves heâs more than just a lawn ornament.
(tap on the image to learn more)
WRITTEN IN DUST (Elsie Creek #7)
Featuring Karmaâs quirks and more of that small-town chaos we all love to read about.
(Bonus: This book is a great intro to the Elsie Creek Police, who later link into the Stock Squad series.)
đ„ Crocodile Encounters: The Crocodile-Wranglerâs Learn-As-You-Go Edition
The brave (and slightly mad) who had no choice but to do-it-yourself, and learn fast, when in the face of danger in these fabulous adventurous storiesâŠ
DOCTORING DUST (Elsie Creek #8)
When you donât have a crocodile wrangler nearby?
You call the local Park Rangerâand this oneâs not afraid to get her boots wet.
BUFFALO DUST (Stockmen #9)
Letâs just say⊠after this book, you may never step into a tinny again.
Croc encounters + boats = a very bad mix.
RUN BEAUTIFUL RUN (Standalone)
Fast-paced, emotional, and packed with tensionâthis story includes one of the scariest crocodile scenes Iâve ever written!
Your pulse wonât thank you, but your inner thrill-seeker might.
STOCKMANâS STORMCLOUD (Stockmen Series #3)
Sometimes crocodile-wrangling isnât a dramatic showdownâitâs just part of life on a cattle station, where managing wild stock (with teeth) is just another line item on the job sheet that has everyone involved.
(Ah, stockmen⊠donât you just love âem?)
Note: This oneâs part of the four-book Stockmen Series, that’s best enjoyed in order.
đ Ready for More?
Weâve talked near misses, runaway tinnies, and DIY crocodile-wrangling chaosâŠ
But if youâre after the real deal?
Then itâs time to meet the outback hero with the dangerous day jobâ
Cool under pressure, unbothered by chaos, and cocky enough to flirt with danger (and maybe your heroine).
