Elsie Creek’s Bad Boy is Back!

With a plan to spend your evening chilling with Netflix, you find yourself inside the tiny supermarket, hunting for snacks in Elsie Creek

You squeeze past the two ladies deep in conversation, clogging up the drinks aisle as you search for your favourite soda.

‘He’s back!’

‘Who?’

‘Elsie Creek’s bad-bad boy. I saw him ride in on his Harley, I did.’

There’s a loud gasp. ‘How dare he show his face back in this town? After what he did.’

With soda in hand, you’re aiming for the chocolate section as their voices carry over the shelves as another lady joins the two women.

‘Ladies, did you hear? Elsie Creek’s Bad boy is back. I just saw him, with his father at the post office.’

‘No, he can’t be. Why? After all these years, why now?’

With ice cream and a basket filled with treats (because you deserve to be spoiled), you head for the front counter.

Yet the shop is buzzing, as everyone is huddled in groups whispering, starting with the growing group of women clogging up the drink’s aisle. The store’s staff, stacking cans of beans for the upcoming special, seem more interested in staring out the window and talking than stacking.

Down another aisle, there’s the young couple trying to sort out which set of diapers to buy. They’re with the lady leaning against her brolly like a walking stick, talking to a mother holding the hand of a toddler wearing a tutu.

All of them are pointing out to the main street, talking about one man as if townspeople in a western waiting for that high noon showdown to begin…

Seriously, how bad is this guy?

When the doors open wide and the dusty outback air fights with the air conditioning as you unload your shopping basket of goodies at the counter.

‘He’s here,’ one of the women cries. ‘Sh-shh…’ Echoes around the store from the various huddled groups.

You follow everyone’s line of sight towards the front door…

With eyes widening, your throat dries. Suddenly it’s hot enough to melt the ice cream you’ve forgotten about, sitting on the counter, because the cashier is staring.

Who is Elsie Creek’s bad boy?

The man had appeared from nowhere.

He filled the supermarket’s doorway with a compact network of muscles bulging on arms that came from a set of deliciously wide shoulders. His torso narrows down to a tight waist and hips that lead down to thick thighs that makes cargo pants sexy.

His steel cap boots clomp on the tiles as he brushes past, filling the entire room with a mouth-watering aroma of spicy outdoors male.

With eyes hidden behind his shades, he nods, and you grin, as the cashier giggles.

‘Who is that man?’ Your head tilts, watching him walk down the aisle, admiring the most amazing rear end. He looks military with his stealthy stride, and lean complex muscle structure that shifts under his tight tee-shirt.

‘Connor,’ whispers the checkout operator. ‘He’s Elsie Creek’s bad boy who broke the rule book in this town.’

‘What did he do?’

Well, you’ll have to skip your Netflix binge and grab this book, ROLLED IN DUST to find out!
