We all love a good romantic promise found in our romance stories. So for those lovers of romance, here is a list of romantic promises our heroes/heroines make in romance novels—no matter the genre…
Top 5 romantic promises the hero/heroine makes in romance novels
1/- That they’ll always be there for you and never leave you. Unconditionally.
2/- To always put your happiness first and to always have your back.
3/- To give you respect, protection, loyalty, and honour you.
4/- To love you more every single passing day.
5/- And to never ever break your heart.
The top 5 promising moments we, as readers, look for in a romance novel
There is a reason so many of us love reading romances, that makes it the most popular genre in the bookstores, so here are a few promising moments we look for in our stories:
1/- The hope of unconditional love.
2/- Good conquers all, even if they’re a beautiful bad boy.
3/- The will-they-or-won’t-they challenge the couple’s face in their chance of ever getting together.
4/-The characters we fall in love with as we follow their journey to find…
5/- That happily ever after at the end.
Wait! We’re not done yet…
9 ultimate romantic promises
If you’re still reading this then we’re all big fans of the romantic promises made, especially when the hero in a romance novel or movie promises something to the woman of his dreams. Sighs
To not give away the ending of my bestselling novels, and as an example, I flexed the muscles of my imagination to create the following romantic promises to the one he/she loves.
As the hero of this story, he/she promises that….
1/- I promise to always be faithful and be there for you forever and ever…
2/- I promise to appreciate everything you do and never take you for granted. Ever. Just be sure to remind me in case I do, but not while my favourite footy team is playing.
3/- I promise to listen without interrupting, and I will try not to jump to conclusions until you have explained the entire situation to me in plain English. Powerpoint presentations are a welcome option.
4/- I promise that I’ll try to make you smile, laugh, and wipe away your tears—before I go and introduce my fists to the one who dared to upset you.
5/- I promise to not complain when you want to adopt a bunch of kittens, or when you decide to cook only wonky dirt-tasting-dishes we can’t pronounce, as you discuss your desire for us to move to Switzerland where you’ll learn to design retractable wash-n-wear clothes for snowmen. (Raises an eyebrow. Huh?)
6/- I promise to share with you the last of my favourite snacks, and to offer you my fries first.
7/- I promise to think of the bigger picture when you change my wardrobe to things I’ll only wear around the house when the lights are off, pretending we’re not home. Which means we’ll be home alone and won’t need clothes at all. (Lets rip a wicked smile)
8/- I promise to let you watch your movies, even those that make you cry while ripping up countless tissues, in between shouting at the couple who are (rolls eyes) obviously meant for each other. But I can’t and won’t promise I’ll be able to sit through an entire series of Farmer Wants a Wife, not unless I’m drinking!
9/- I also promise to keep our date nights and never complain about where or what we do. Even if it involves watching a sunset from the back of the ute, planning our future that’ll become a life filled with treasured memories in the decades to come…
You know, that sounded just like the hero from my bestselling novel Rolled in Dust, or was that the hero in The Art of Dust?
What I promise you in my romance novels:
1/- I promise that there will be some feel-good emotions of hope, with a dash of drama that is balanced out with humour.
2/- You’ll also get the chance to visit a part of the Northern Territory Outback that very few people will ever get to experience in The Elsie Creek Series, and in my upcoming release Run Beautiful Run (that combines thrilling feel-good women’s fiction with romance).
3/- You’ll find characters you’ll cheer for, scream at, and eventually adore as you follow their journeys to…
4/- Leave you with a satisfied smile when you read the happily ever after at the end.
So, what do you say?
