Now that this latest book release is roaming free across global bookstores, discover 6 fun, weird and whacky real-life stories behind this latest bestseller, Run Beautiful Run.
Stories come from stories, be it the inspiration or a real-life moment that fans the fuel for fiction. So let’s take a peek behind the curtain starting with reason, no reason, and just because it seemed interesting at the time while writing the book, Run Beautiful Run, I’m sure you’ll find something fun to smile at …
1/- Who doesn’t love a good cat and mouse chase?
Pass the popcorn, princess, because we all know it’s the stuff of blockbuster movies.
We’re talking about those edge-of-your-seat thrillers.
And it’s where all of those stories are based on one scene…
The timeless classic cat and mouse chase.
Isn’t that what Tom and Jerry are all about?
What about Coyote and Speedy?
I learned more about this genre while typing at hyper-speed. But I went one step further to go through a few movies, we all know and love within this genre, to find some that included romance.
It was addictive to watch.
Addictive to read.
No wonder it became an addictive part of the story, Run Beautiful Run.
2/ – Monsters are made for stories.
Most stories look for a villain.
Stories usually have a hero that needs a villain.
So what if that villain is a prehistoric monster?
But let’s get even scarier than a mere monster myth, but a real-life, breathing, living beast that roams free in my backyard!
It’s true, we share the land with man-eating crocodiles, it’s any wonder they ended up in my stories. But it was also my excuse to go out and really stalk them for a bit, to learn the primal animalistic traits that have these beasts sitting on the top of the food chain.

3/ Road trips are the perfect fuel for stories
What happens on the road, may stay on the road for some people.
Yet for this author, it’s the fuel for the ultimate road trip story as found in RUN BEAUTIFUL RUN!
Road trips usually involve maps, so I even came up with a mud map of the journey the heroine takes. (* Points to the image left, or is that above? *) I needed it to know where I was going while writing the story that I now get to share with you.
Can you guess where the places are on the map, where ever it is?
I also mention in the acknowledgments section about how road trips created an impact in this story RUN BEAUTIFUL RUN:
In case you can’t read my writing (*snort-laughs*) the message pretty much says: “Never would I have ever imagined all those times I’d traveled, would it end up in a story like this one!”
Yep, I can blame my love for road trips and the real-life places I journeyed to, it truly helped give a level of authenticity to this story.
Did I mention, it comes with a map? (Now where did I put that thing?)
So, if you’re looking for inspiration to go on a road trip to fuel your own stories, check out this post revealing that I may have an obsession with road trips. >>
4/ Making and breaking promises are a big part of stories.
To make or break a promise is something we may read, watch, and create daily.
But I did some digging to learn about promises. There are some good reasons for making and keeping a promise too, there’s the ethical benefits but also a heap of self-esteem benefits you can get from keeping a promise.
And it’s a promise that starts the story RUN BEAUTIFUL RUN.
So my question that became a big part of the entire story is: “How far would the heroine go in making a promise?”
We all do it, making promises is so common in everyday life.
So how far would you go to keep a promise?

5/ What about all of those romantic promises made in stories
Continuing with my deep dive on the topic of promises, for this book, I pretty soon discovered the most used promises in romance stories.
For those lovers of romance, here is a list of romantic promises our heroes/heroines make in romance novels—no matter the genre…
I’m sure you’ll recognize most of them.
6/ What about the cliche of damsels in distress in stories
Admittedly, most of us grew up with the prince rescuing the princess in fairy tales.
The same can be said for the cliche of damsels in distress found in most thrillers.
But not all thrillers are the same.
So is the damsel in distress trope still valid today?
Before you judge this article by its cover, take a moment to reflect on this topic.
It’s not what you think.

To wrap it up into one neat story…
Behind the many stories found in everyday life, it has the magic to create a story filled with edge-of-your-seat thrilling moments. Like watching a woman racing in heels through an airport, or those times I found myself sitting at an outback airstrip waiting for my ride.
We all have a story to share about a day with our loved ones.
But for authors, like me, we take that everyday real-life story and run…
Is it any wonder I created a story where the action includes a good cat-and-mouse-chase, as well as an adventure to unseen parts of the outback?
A story that comes with delicious romance, feel-good fun, family, and a guaranteed Happily Ever After.
So if you are looking for a story to help you forget the dramas in your day, then download this book.
Grab your favorite beverages, kick off those shoes, and escape into a Happily Ever After.
And I’ll…
