Leaving the comfy cocoon of my bed on a Monday morning with sleepy, half-open eyes, I stubbed my toe on the way down the corridor to flick on the kettle in the kitchen. My body ached from head to freshly stubbed toe and all the other muscles I didn’t know existed from my weekend’s bike ride—I couldn’t believe how heavy a kettle filled with water could be!
But as the ancient beast began its duty to boil water, (yes, I’m due an upgrade) I scrolled through my emails on the phone and BAM! I get not one but 4 emails from the AUSTRALIAN ROMANCE READERS ASSOCIATION, informing me I have been nominated for not 1, not 2 but 4 categories for their ARRA ANNUAL READER’S AWARDS!!
By now my eyes snap open and I strut my stuff down the corridor as if on the academy awards red carpet in my designer PJ’s (not) to brag to the rest of the slumbering household.
By now, my family is over all things authoring, even the rescue cat doesn’t want to hear about it, so I’ll share it with you, my dear reader, because it’s YOU who got me there so we both deserve to celebrate.
